The Amsterdam Resort in Khao Lak is just 200 meters from the beautiful beach of Bang Niang. The friendly owner of the Resort (Kees van Dobben) has many years of experience in Thailand. In addition to Dutch and English, Kees speaks German, French and Thai. The Amsterdam Resort in Khao Lak has been open since November 2001. After the 26 December 2004 tsunami, the resort was completely rebuilt. Although Khao Lak is considered by some to be expensive in Thailand, this Amsterdam Resort is probably the cheapest resort so close to the beach.

The Amsterdam Resort is in Khao Lak on the Indian Ocean coast in Phangnga province in southern Thailand. Bang Niang Beach is 70 KM North of the bridge that connects the island of Phuket with the mainland.

   

There is a variety of bungalows and rooms in the main building. The restaurant is in the open air on the second floor of the main building, where the wind blows well. There is an internet room with computers. To use the computers costs 1 Baht per minute, but if you have a laptop or tablet, you can use the WIFI (wireless connection) for free.

It is also possible to rent scooters and bicycles at the resort. The Amsterdam Resort also has a reliable travel agency where you can buy tickets and tours for island trips:
