It is one of the beautiful temple of Thailand. Purely white in colour with glasses engraved. Architecture have so much... detailing and is picture perfect. The paintings inside temple walls are amazing. It has so many amazing artefacts. There are three golden washrooms which are made wholly of gold theme.Must visit placelees meer
A collection of buildings with very much detail. It is a well known sight of Thailand. It is in fact not a real temple.... It is the creation of an artist that also included Marvel figures in heads and sculptures you can find all over the site. You can apparently meet the guy in the coffeeshop or take a picture with his depiction at the entrance.Worth a visit!lees meer
Very beautiful area full of art. The artist is extremely talented. The area is amazing. Very good to witness the art... here. From the temples to the little details located around the area.Perhaps the only thing Chiangmai has had to offer… a gateway to this place. What we didn’t know was, this place also has a gold temple too which was a surprise. But obviously the white temple is just stunning.Hard to say whether or not this was worth the 6-7 hour drive round trip however. Up to you. No regrets, good experience, just not sure if it’ll be worth it for others. Commute is a bit long.lees meer
Beautiful, cheap entry price, and I appreciate that there’s somebody whose job it is to ask people to hurry up so... nobody hogs the views for photos! It’s 30B for a prayer hanger where you can write a message and hang it up for good luck. A wonderful experience.lees meer
The white temple complex is quite huge and has the white temple (fee of 100 bahts) and also the golden temple and many... other architectural places. The complex is a private artistic exposition, so it’s not really a temple and yes a mix of temple and amusement park. It’s very beautiful and relaxing. Outside there are some shops to grab a coffee or juice or buy clothes.lees meer
Very creative temple with a story when you see it. Not your common temple. Which was designed by a artist with a... creative vision. It had many details and interesting elements when you walk around. Good place to take pictures and see creativity at its finest.lees meer
Amazing art.and architecture. As a practicing Theravada Buddhist I was surprised that many local Buddhists find this... temple extreme and Indeed it is. The realism of the hand reaching up from the hell realms is curiousAre they wanting the bridge crossers to pull them up and out or are they attempting to pull you down. When visiting look for the 1 red.painted fingernail. A must see when in N. Thailand. The most controversial temple in Asia I believe.lees meer
The white temple is an absolute highlight in the area. The entrance fee is 100 baht - about 2.90 € - cheap. Thais pay... nothing. After the entrance, you follow the path through the temple. Unfortunately, not everything is accessible and photography is not allowed inside the temple. After the visit, the path automatically leads to the courtyard. Here, apart from sanitary facilities, there is also a small art gallery with beautiful paintings. Small fountains are also installed. Everything - including the greenery - fits perfectly into the picture. You can see various fish in the water, which also arrive quite quickly.lees meer
This temple has only the name of sacred but in reality is absolutely not. It lacks cruelly of authenticity although... being very aesthetic, it must be admitted. But it's more of a tourist attraction than a real temple. However, the external aspect of the temple seems to be lace and is superb. It has a phantasmagorical aspect.lees meer
One of the most exquisite pieces of architecture I’ve ever seen. It is truly incredible, like a shimmering, glittering... white castle in the sun. It’s a measly 100 baht to enter the chapel. This is a must-see landmark in Thailand. A remarkable experience for anyone of any age. This is the kind of temple monks take selfies at. Do yourself a favor and get to the White Temple!lees meer
I'm probably not wrong to say this is the most popular place to visit in Thailand outside of Bangkok. Everyone... visiting me wants to see it - and see it again.Do read some of the other varied and interesting reviews, I will not repeat all the accolades again. It is a large site and you need time to see it all.I have supplied a set of photos from my most recent trip in 2021 and it looks as good as ever. It's a shame you cannot take pictures inside. Not to be missed.lees meer
Must visit place in Thailand….!Very beautiful for eyes., its the extreme skills of architecture. The engineer still... alive. There is many things to see inside and out side of the temple . Inside there is a statue of a saint its look like original. The temple look more beautiful while the sunset time , the sunlight reflects and will glow.About the history, There were a old temple and this architecture renovated with his own money . And still the works going on.For getting the bright color its made with glasses and special plaster. So it can be protected from the sun light and rain .lees meer
One of the more impressive temple exteriors in the north. We were lucky to visit on a quiet day. Arguable the most... ornate toilet in the kingdom is here. Worth the drive out of town to see. Some good restaurants on the way too.lees meer
Incredible. The 100THB entrance fee is well worth it. The grounds are extensive and social media fans will have a... field day despite several no photo zones. Expect to spend at least 90 minutes here. Note to self.. sunglasses required.. the white and mirror tiles are very reflective..As far as the artistry and craftsmanship goes.. this temple has it all.. including some tongue in cheek pop culture references to help bestow lessons in virtue and sacred duty to family. Pick a clear day, the temple offers several outdoor photo spots. Also great to see several tourists here on a Saturday. Thumbs up!.lees meer
I think “interesting” describes it the best. Didn’t really know what to think of this place. I personally would not... consider it a temple, more like a creative exhibit of many things peculiar in a form of a temple. But clearly worth a visit. Probably better in the morning due to the light situation.lees meer
There's no doubt that this temple is certainly beautiful, interesting, and one of the most unique temples we have... visited in Thailand, but it still does not justify the dual pricing!!100b for foreigners and free for Thsis, you don't see any other countries giving different prices for different nationalities, blatantly ripping off tourists!! It's not the price; it's the principle of the dual pricing that really is unfair.Anyway, architecturally, it is very pleasing on the eye, pure white all around, which is unusual from the normal gold temples. No photos are allowed inside the temple.Quite quiet to visit now with not many tourists.Overall, it is a very beautiful temple and very unique, but I'm sticking to my poor scores for the ripping off of tourists, which you are not forced to pay and in all honesty the beautiful photos are taken from outside where you don't have to pay!....lees meer
I saw this temple being build over the years. It's a stunning piece of contemporary art!Even if today you'll face... hoards of tourists visiting, it's worth spending some time there.lees meer
Gorgeous- the best of all temple I have visited so far.. Such a wow factor even from a far... walk ways, small to... bigger details are indeed a unique work of art. Took me hours to see all of it spend more time when you plan to visit it🤍🤍🤍lees meer
The place was beautiful. The temple was crowded probably cause of the peak season. This is family friendly place , lot... of stuffs you will discover . The place is well maintained and properly managed. Reaching to the temple is fairly easy using public transport or private. There are also lot of shops nearby to try our local cuisines. There are also souvenirs shops around and fair pricelees meer
An absolute masterpiece, a serious work of art. Everywhere you look, you notice something original and unique. You need... to see for yourself to understand. Worth the trip just to see! Take your time it's not in and out you will get lost in its beauty.lees meer
Absolutely gorgeous. Save some money and take the blue bus from the station in the city central. It’s 20THB and about a... 25 min ride. If you’re staying nearby, the schedule is posted in spot 8, where the bus departs from. As others say, I’d recommend heading there just before close or just after open. Closes at 530 on the weekend days (I thought it was 5), or you’ll be waiting behind people taking pictures with 17 different poses in front of each interesting thing.lees meer
Very Beautiful Temple. It’s amazing to see. 100baht entry but well worth it. Luckily we were there about 2-3pm near... closing time so less tourist were there but it was burning hot. Next day we came at 11am but decided not to go in as it was really crowded. Decided to eat at the shop which the designer of the temple goes to eat. Cheap and good.lees meer
It is really a temple very different from any other you've seen before. The structure and its construction attract a... lot of attention due to its high level of detail. The interior of the temple is relatively simple considering the exterior appearance. It is important to consider that you cannot take pictures inside the temple. As in any other temple, you have to be respectful with the way you dress. There's a lot of tourists, so I recommend spending at least 1:30 h to be able to see the place in general.lees meer
The White Temple is n real art temple . The architecture Full of meaning in every detail. Recommends to book the ticket... first before you come here because a lot of visitor anytime . There are some food shop or restaurants near the temple you also can have the lunch very convenient.really like the white color with the silver color and the stories about to heaven and hell . Come here before you check some architecture history and preview the artist backgrounds about this artwork that will be more helpful when you see the whole building. It is very beautiful and touching .Here is a little bit far from Chiang Mai city around three hours. But is really worthy ??lees meer
Absolutely loved this temple! This temple is more of an art exhibit than an actual temple. There’s a lot of pop culture... in the design, which I found to be really unique. I haven’t seen any other temple like this throughout my travels in Asia. Definitely worth the trip in my opinion! It does get crowded so I’d recommend trying to visit early. This temple is definitely about taking in the beauty and unique details throughout the grounds.lees meer
This place is just amazing!1) The architecture is stunning. No need to describe further, it’s clear from all the... pictures.2) The main temple walls are painted with a storyline which we found completely amazing. It’s just a tiny room but we spent like half an hour looking at every detail.3) the museums (both the golden building inside and the free gallery outside) have tons of amazing artwork by the artist (paintings, sculptures and tiny casted figures) which are all beautifulThe artist is without a doubt a tenuous, and this temple makes the visit to Chang Rai worth on it’s own!lees meer
We did the light fest, the Illumination of the White Temple for the first showing at 6:30 pm. There are 6 stations and... you walk around from 6:30 - 7:15 pm to stations 1-5. They all have light shows that are on a 2 min loop. After 7:15 pm, you can get your assigned seats at station 6 where the main show with actors begins at 7:30 pm. It ends around 8 pm. The light show was awesome, station 2 was my favorite. The 1000 baht VIP seats at the main show look straight at the presentation while the 400 baht seats are off the side. There is no buffet as advertised so make sure to eat before arriving. We had a 4 year old with us and everyone enjoyed it!lees meer
Stunning temple although a bit creepy with some of those sculptures. Pretty thought provoking. Fun to walk around... although I would try get there before the crowds as we were there at a busy time and it was a bit too full. There are also other buildings and temples to walk through on the same grounds which is nice. Although it is known as a tourist destination it is still a temple so I would try cover up as you would for any Thai temple if you go here. There were many tourists walking around in quite revealing outfits which seemed a bit disrespectful.lees meer
Too crowded to stop for any pictures. The guard asked everyone to keep moving 🙁 The temple itself was amazing. You... gotta try putting your hand on any surface of the temple to feel the coolness even though it was very hot outsideThere was a restaurant on the opposite side serving BBQ pork and chicken. Highly recommended!lees meer
If you like Disney you will love this park/temple....but if you do not like theme park temples - you can skip this... theme park temple. Completely lacks any substance. It is white and nice but that is where it ends. I am still not sure where the references to the teen age mutant turtles or aliens fit in and if it is even legal. Certainly not my favorite temple in Thailand and unless you really like Disney - you should skip this temple.lees meer
