It’s a very popular floating market. One of the oldest markets. It’s on a real nature river. If you stay near by at a... home stay, you can walk along the river to visit the market. You can also get the boat to visit various places near the market. It’s very busy in the afternoon. The food and drinks are quite good. Give them a go 😋Market like this is something very hard to describe. You need to visit and see if for yourself. Heaps of souvenirs including dry food. If you are looking for gifts to buy, this is not a bad place to walk around. There are late boats taking you to see fire flies. Just make sure to turn off your flash light and have a good camera to snap some pics. Your phone camera won’t cut it.There are car paid park nearby if you drive.Note: depends on when you decide to visit, the water can be quite high or quite low. The walk way around the river is very busy and quite small. Be careful.read more
There are quiet village, nice resorts, bars and local market along the river. We spent 3 hours walking around, and... tried the unique ice-cream and bought some souvenirs there. Overall, The souvenirs and clothing are selling in reasonable price in the market. There was live band in the evening ( not sure if it is festive show) It is worth to go, although it is a bit far away from the city.read more

As a Thai, I had chance to experience this place during day and night and it was very impressive. Day time is already... well known, but the twilight and night time is also awesome. We went there for dinner and walked around. Waited for some time and went for the firefly boat trip. They didn’t charge extra for the foreigners! That’s rare!Firefly boat trip was not so amazing but overall a good experience compared to the price (60THB per person with shared boat). Parking in the temple is 30 baht, but outside ones are 40 baht. The temple one is less crowded.read more
Very relaxed town. On a market day, it is lively. On a non market day, it is very quiet (which is also nice, in a... different way). However note that many shops and cafes and restaurants only open on market days. So do your research before coming. There are many pedestrian bridges, but a few are in the middle of renovation. Boat tours are available to go see the famous firefires at dusk and sunset. If you get a chance, you can give alms to the monks on the river in the morning. Your guesthouse should be able to advise.read more
A relatively small floating market. Pretty similar offerings across retail and food options. It is almost a 1.5 hours... drive from Bangkok city. So might be good to check out other attractions in the area for the long drive. Otherwise, it would take less than 2 hours to finish walking around the market if you're not taking any boat ride.read more

The floating markets is interesting to visit with a variety of tourist type shops to buy various items and also food.... There is restaurants to sit at and eat whilst looking over the water and there is also a river tour that basically explores 5 Buddhist temples that leaves from the floating markets. The day was interesting but very much a tourist place. It was worth a visit just for the experience.See my video on my YouTube on the travelling social workerread more

very beautiful floating market.many shops selling food and other products. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere... was very good.It didn't seem like a tourist trap. The visitors and customers were mainly Thai and there were very few foreign tourists (This may also be because of the global downturn in travel). Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself thoroughly.I recommend this place for a pleasant outing experience.read more
The best floating market near Bangkok, definitely worth visiting!! Not a touristic place, so no useless and expensive... souvenirs 🙂 But cheap and tasty food (especially seafood) and friendly people. Recommend to rent a boat (500 to 1000 THB) for sightseeing tour on the river and neighbour channels. Also, a lot of nice temples nearby.read more
It is a long 90 minutes drive from Bangkok but worth the trip to see how a former fishing village has turned into one... of the more famous Floating Market in Thailand. There are still elderly folks living next to the busy and often noisy river but presumably they cherish being next to the waters. Even during these difficult times the locals prevail and maintain their way of life not standing the challenges. I am sure tourists will once again visit these iconic sight even covid fear has resided.read more
Took a boat ride from the floating market with my girlfriend for 100 baht each. Thought it would be a quick one hour... spin around the river to check out the sites but it turned out to be a grand tour of the temples along the river that took two and a half hours. Bored doesn't begin to describe how I felt. The marker itself is good though with a wide variety of foods, clothes, footwear etc available. Took a really long time to find a coffee shop there.read more

Still rather touristy, but good enough to spend at least two hours to get the feeling of it. Don't expect any seller... really riding on boat though, apparently they don't do that anymore, but you can pay 50b each peraon or 500b to chartered a mini yacht to circle around the river outside of the floating market, which is about an hour long and quite boring really, it never stop and no one will explain the surrounding, but it always sound better to ride with one to say you have been to the floating market, given if you have time. The shops on the riverside are more or less the same, but again the mood is good and they are indeed some nice photo spot.read more
Lots of small shops to buy really good sea food. The prices are all pretty good too. Not nearly as many shops selling... souvenirs or clothes as in the past. All the shops selling the handmade cotton shirts and pants are selling the same things. In the past several shops had their own unique style, now every shop is the same.read more
A bunch of very friendly and generally happy vendors selling a huge variety of foods, snacks and touristy items plus... the actual vendors on boats. There is certainly something for everyone to eat or snack on, with most vendors offering free testing of their eats. Totally new for me. I have never seen such a thing. A lot of stores there you can shop souvenirs while sitting in the... boat. Also a lot of other boats offer food. Some just one type of food. We had some thy food which was tasty but hot spicy. The water was not clean because many of the shops there put their garbage in it. They are building other stores as well. It is not really what it was traditionally but the same pattern. Most of the shops offering the same stuff . Seems one distributer has put some products in all of the shops .read more
The Ultimate Food-Trip! With everything from juices, fresh fruit, and milk based drinks, to meats, seafood, and a... plethora of local desserts and sweets. Truly a foodie paradise.Expect it to be busy, with a combination of locals and tourists. Most items on sale are well priced, making for an affordable experience. In addition to food there are clothes, hand made accessories, souvenirs, and more.Much of the market can be covered on foot, but also has water based sections, wherein you can order and eat food from the boats. There is also a boat ride available; the highlight being to take it after sunset to be able to see the fireflies. The Amphawa police station serves as a Landmark and also has restrooms for tourists.read more
