Cha-am city was a small fishing and farming village but has grown to be more touristic as it is located on the coast and offers a long beach with both western and Thai facilities. The wide beaches, with low tie, strech-out for 8km and Cha-am has a boulevard which is great for bicycling and relaxing.
When does it get busy?
During weekends it gets busy with lots of tourists from Bangkok, except for the rain season. During winter time when European tourists visit so this is in December, January and February.
