We visited Visit Petchaburi Palace and Museum Rama 5 on top of the hill in the town of Petchaburi. The official name is Phra Nakhon Khiri.
The attraction was registered as a historic park on 27 August 1979, with two of the palace buildings that now house a section of the Thai National Museum.
How to get to the Petchaburi Palace and Museum of Rama 5?
When we visited in August 2018 we took this cable lift upstairs. This is easy to do and is self-evident. At the bottom of the entrance, there are various souvenir shops and a few restaurants. You will automatically see this cable lift that also brought us up. Walk in this direction and buy the tickets here. The trains regularly go up and down so there is almost no waiting time and the view is very worthwhile.
How do you get to this Petchaburi Palace and Museum of Huahin?
Public transport is not as self-evident and easy as in the Netherlands. If you plan to go with the Thai public transport, take the mini van from Soi 51 in Huahin. Take the mini from direction Bangkok and tell the driver “khao Wang Petchaburi”. The journey takes 50 – 60 minutes.
