Amazing amazing temple complex on a hill. Not much English but overall still very interesting. Tons of monkeys as well... as monks around. You can walk up takes 15 minutes from opposing side to cable car. If you want exercise than dont get scammed by. Able car people because everyone will tell you to go there. You can walk down. 🚡 is 200 baht. The monkeys didn’t seem aggressive but there was an army of them so be careful.read more
This is a must-to-go place if you are in the area. Rama IV's palace is located high on the mountain with a magnificent... view over the entire area. You take the cable car up here, and then it's a walk around between the various buildings that are spread over the entire mountain. The trip is not for people with poor walking. In the past there were many wild monkeys which were a bit of a nuisance. They are now gone from the mountain, there are only a few at the foot of the mountain. For some inexplicable reason, photography inside the palace itself is strictly prohibited, foreigners also have to pay 5 times as much to see the palace. This which costs a star. When foreigners have to pay so much extra, maybe you could use some of the money to maintain the buildings, which are crying out for paintread more
Very nice historical place to visit if you’re in Petchaburi. Unfortunately, you can’t take any photos in the museum.... There is a 150 baht fee for foreigners but worth it. 50 baht for the tram ride up the hill.read more
A short cable ride going to the top. The pathway going to the temples are wide and passable but make sure to prepare... for a long walk up to the top. An overlooking sight of the town awaits you up. It is a nice view to see but prepare an umbrella or anything to protect you from the heat of the sun.Along the pathway, be careful because there are monkeys. Make sure to keep your hands free of valuable things when you walk thru the pathway.read more
Palace is interesting but they could provide more historic explanations or insights. Nearly no information signs. Cable... car ride was fun but they will keep you waiting pretty long times on unbusy days for a ride up or down. Staff is pretty demotivated and uncommonly unfriendly for Thai standards. Even the local monkey was more polite and welcoming.Overall was a good visit, but many things that could be improved.read more
The place for everyone who likes views. It's very hot so take some water with you, even though it's possible to buy... something at the spot. People get to the top by cog railway. It's not that long, but refreshing ride. The building of this complex are on different hills so once you get up there, be prepared to go up and down all the time, sometimes quite steeply. There is a lot of monkeys in the woods so be prepared. The monkey are not cuddly creatures and they can easily steal something from you.read more
Great experience with lovely views. Care needed when walking around as lots of steep ramps and lots of steps. Well... worth the effort. Cable cart to visitor center and chair lift to the main museum for step free access. Some parts not wheel chair accessible. Highly recommended for a few hours stop on the way.read more
Very serene and beautiful area with many paths to walk though use caution, many of the brick paths are uneven and you... can easily lose your footing. The summer palace has a great deal of history and where it is away from the main City of Bangkok, much fewer tourists. There is a fairly steep path or for 200 bhat a cable car tram to the top, I chose the tram and did not regret a moment. There are wild monkey's that will steal from you, so make sure you keep your possessions secure.read more
Very nice place on a little hill, with a bit of a view and great spots to take pictures. Well maintained and not... overcrowded with tourists (at least during the week). Be aware of some thieving monkeys.read more
Nice old palace with great history. Good view/scenery of the city. You can take the cable car up if you do not want to... trek up. The negative part is that there are a lot of monkeys. While waiting for the cable car to move, they are not afraid to enter the cable car (open concept, see photo) and snatch your stuff. Hence please do not leave your important belongings outside your bag (side pockets) and hold it tightly.read more
A beautiful old palace and fortress with panoramic view of the city. Easily access by the cable car. There is a small... trekking route up there to wander around so you need to prepare yourself to walk up and down a bit. Beware of monkeys, they will try to steal food, hat and bags from you.read more
This place is truly beautiful. It's big and a bit to walk about so you will need a good shoes for it. There is some... photo opportunities here so if you like to bring a good camera with you. There is Pala E area where you need to wear anything but covered below knee level, if you comes in short they have a dress for rent and it's very cheap. Beautiful, and huge park with several buildings in different architectures. Prepare to sweat though, as on hot days... it's a challenge to see all the spots. Monkeys are all over, and though they're generally docile, use your umbrella if they come to close.read more
